The ritual is quite interesting, and rather involved. Not that I didn't enjoy reading it I just wonder how the heck you come up with it all. I'm disappointed in Harry, Lauren's proposition would have been good practice for keeping the emotional elements out of a relationship. Not to mention all the other propositions, what's wrong with a little sewing of the seed in fertile lands? Ahh, damn Harry and his damn sense of responsibility.

LOL!!! "I told her that I was never scared. The dragon was chasing you." LOL!!!
Great chapter! Lots of cool character development.
"You are fighting the coming darkness now." - Subtly plugging your own stories? haha.
Editorial notes:
"Why are the other’s staring at me?"
- others - no '.
"so might as well role with it."
- roll with it.
"Like influx of fresh blood is going to reinvigorate this stagnate culture." - stagnated -OR- stagnant. Stagnant is better.
"...and some actually by that whole..." - buy
"You’d leave to if you had anywhere to go." - you'd leave too.
The base meaning of 'to' is toward.
'too' means 'also,' 'as well.'
"Thundercloud’s home bares no real resemblance to..."
-bears no resemblance...
- Bares = gets naked, exposes.
- Bears = carries
- Bears also means more than one bear.
"...has always been rebellious child." - been a rebellious child.
"I think it was the craving for support and acceptance was behind her sudden interest..."
- ...that was behind...
"Though making such broad judgments based will most likely..."
- broad-based judgments ...
"...to apply the thickened blood, sap, blood, and vomit goop to your."
- to your *what*? - there's a word missing from this sentence.
Thanks!

Very good, it would be really strange to have people asking you to knock up their daughter. Tough work but lots of bennies.

That was a very interesting look at becoming an animagus (or is it animage?). The line, "his name was Asshole" made me laugh pretty hard. I like how you placed a significance on Harry being a Jaguar. For a reason I can't understand, it seems to be a very popular pick for his form, but is never given any meaning like you have.
Damn, Harry has some serious self-control. I don't know if I would've been able to say 'no' to a ready-and-willing woman just like that.
No naked Fleur here, but I suppose a couple mentions is enough to make me happy. :)

Naked Fleur is a running joke through the story.~Jim

"What did you tell her?"
"I told her that I was never scared. The dragon was chasing you."
ROTFLMAO!!!

One of my best one liners in the story. There's a better one coming soon. Be careful with food and drink near the end of the chapters.~Jim

I love the exploration of the primal animagus ritual. There are many ways I've read where Harry becomes an animagus but this was one of the best ones. I also really liked Harry's obsession with Starless Sky's boobs.

Thanks again. I wanted to take animagery and curse breaking/ward crafting in completely different directions. Plus what teenaged boy wouldn't like a nice set of chest ornaments?~Jim

Why, Yes, I did like your version of the Animagus process. Sure, it was a two week deal, all together (from the time it was proposed) so it had the benefit of being quick, but your description was vivid and engaging, so it wasn't just a checkmark on a list.
Thank you for writing.

It was only fast because Harry was 'ready' for the transformation. Had he not gotten a response from T-Cloud's totem, Harry would have been studying for a long time. When I conceived this, I looked at it from the angle of why couldn't Harry learn Occlumency in book 5. He was an emotional volcano beyond all the teenaged crap. So, I made him on the verge of unleashing his animal and athe foriegn emotions and transition into becoming an Animagus has been affecting him for at least the last year.~Jim

Great chapter. I liked the animagus ritual. This story is starting to remind me even more strongly of Dorothy's 'Junior Year Abroad'.
I'm glad to hear that the animagus form will play a vital part in this story; you are right in that it will often be only used in a check-off manner and then forgotten about. While Harry turning into a large feline is not particularly novel, I'm interested to see what you will be doing with it, and confident that you will manage to use it for a novel purpose. Also, I doubt that there are many animagus-related things left that haven't been done with Harry before.
like I said, great stuff, and keep up the good work!

I will have to look for that story. It sounds interesting. This story is about two major schools of magic, Curse Breaking and Animagery. I am trying to put a novel spin on them both and make it harder for the next two knut hack who decides to make Harry an animagus in one chapter without any real effort.~Jim

Whoa, what a title for a story/song/poem; "I was never scared. The dragon was chasing you." Excellent installment. Looking forward to many more!

I am glad you liked Thundercloud's closing line. I hope you enjoyed my unusual take on becoming an Animagus.~Jim

The creativity and complexity you've put in the animagus transition and the wards/runes development is stirring. It inspires me to work even harder on my Spell Mongering concepts in my own stories.
Thanks for the motivation!
JBern replied:
Now I am blushing. By the way, I don't know if I have ever left a review for your stories, but I have really enjoyed Spell Mongering. I like the way you have the establishment purposefully trying to tear down anyone who can monger. It is a fascinating concept.
I hope you enjoy how his animal form defines everything in terms of meat. You'll also see some distinction between Native American and European magic. You'll see that it isn't better, just different. Though Harry at the moment is negatively predisposed towards anything he has learned at Hogwarts.
