This is great. The hat is wonderfully, crudely obnoxious. The Dursleys are scum, and deserve to be punished somehow. Harry needs to get the land back-to have been in the family that long, and then lose it? I loved the little bet scene. Interesting and very unique choice on the Animagus. Remus must be punished. Sorry for the rambling thoughts, but its really late and I'm zonked.

Very nice. I'm sure HJ is going to be quite annoyed if the hat turnes out to be correct (at least partially) concerning Katie Bell). Although he might find himself comparing her(or whoever he ends up with as a romantic intrest) to Lilly, which could be somewhat emberassing and disturbing.

About the Drugs, Vernon is lucky Harry had Dobby remove them rather then let the police find them and check fingerprints and drug traces and find HJ hadn't handled them but Vernon and Dudley had.

About selling Godric Hollow while it made for a couple of very nice scenes any property which had been given to the family "for service to the crown" in the 12th century (At least 4 generations back and more likely 10+) would likely have been entailed or at the very least held in trust for Harry which means that Vernon and Petunia would have had to have misrepresented themselve at the very least, and more likely commited fraud to trick the developer into thinking they had the right to sell the property. Under those conditions it's possible a judge would nullify the sale (although whoever baught the property from the developer could at the very least get some compensation) and would certainly find against the Durslies in any complaint even if they hadn't so blatently stole Harry's inheritence.

Can't wait for more of the story.

You are likely correct and HJ will likely pursue something in the future.   For now, he has the memories of Voldemort killing James and the knowledge the Voldemort isn't quite dead.

The protection Lily's sacrifice has provided him more than outweighs his need for vengance.~Jim

Excellent as usual Jbern. Although, I have totally disagreed with some of the stuff you have done in your other fics, I have always appreciated the excellent writing you continue to pump out.

However, for the love of god, don't let "HJ" forgive Remus Lupin and become buddy buddy. I know it's strange asking that, but you have to admit, you have the tendency to have Harry be forgiving (or at the very least understanding).

Well things are picking up. It will be interesting to see how Harry's birthday and school go. It seems like Harry is pulling things together at least a bit. The Sorting Hat is funnier to me when it is interacting with others as well as HJ. I'd love to see "Dobby does the Dursleys" I think it could be a marvelous creative outlet for him, especially after HJ is back at school and can't be suspected. Thanks for writing. W.

Oh crap! this is a brilliant story. People can debate all they want about the presence of James, but the Sort Hat and the plans Harry/James has are first rate. True that about Ron, but that Katie scene scarred me, so I wonder how the "reunion" will turn out. Erk, that bring up the information about Lily, ack.

I both like and dislike this story. I could do without the smartass hat but at times I find a little humor in his comments. So we're not going to find out if HJ is really Harry with James' memories or James in place of a 'dead' (for lack of better term) Harry? That's too bad.

The Pronghorn is one of my favorite animals. So I'm glad to finally see someone else use them in a story.

So are you going to make Harry and Ron no longer get along? What about Hermione? I mean Harry won't 'need' her any longer so she'll probably get mad about that. Poor Ginny, now she'll never have a shot at Harry. Are Katie and Ollie going to play a big part in this story? Is Harry a Qudditch God or what? lol.

I appreciated the reminder about Remus & Lily. I'd forgotten that.

Having Ollie as a confidant is nice. Having someone outside the typical circle of friends (and Hat) to help him out and interact with adds a lot. The Mr. Woody bit was great, too. :-)

The bits with Katie were highly amusing.

The Pronghorn is an inspired choice. Similar to Prongs, but a little bit different, and ties in reasonably well, personality-wise.

Nice to see you can do a more light hearted piece so well, too. Your contest rivals were no doubt scared off. :-D
