A phenoix is an incredibly smart being. While I won't deny that Fawks wouldn't come to Dumbledore's defense, even against Harry, I feel certain that he would understand that Harry wouldn't actually hurt him unless truely provoked.

Ginny just can't help herself, she keeps digging and digging. I have a feeling that soon Harry will start to regret not leaving her at the Chamber of Secrets. And considering that Hermione researched Heir Compulsion for her, and one of the Twins gave her love potion, Harry is going to trust them less and less. He'll end up with only Susan as a confidante, and that's not healthly.

Two main things about this chapter: I enjoyed how Fawkes appeared when Albus was stunned. Your A/N argument makes a surprising amount of sense and makes me wonder why I've not seen it crop up before. Secondly, I am not a Harry/Ginny shipper in any way, shape, or form - it always seemed a bit too Oedipal for my tastes - and any fic that has Ginny acting like a hormonal teenage witch with a sense of entitlement to Harry (which he doesn't feel towards her in return) is always a pleasure to read. That all goes back to my personal belief that no one knows who they want as a lifelong partner while in their teens; which doesn't detract from the Harry/Susan 'ship presented here at all - they're both under a magical bind to marry within the next year or so, and it's not like there's a whole hell of a lot either can do about it, unless they want to pick someone else. Frankly, I could see myself acting as casual about the whole thing as Harry has been thus far.

Loving this story, Jim.

Do you ever watch MythBusters? On an episode of that, they tested making the impression of a hero's ring on a villain's face. Good episode.

Just thought I'd review at chapter ... what chapter is this again? Ah, yes, 15. Excellent job through here.

Going back to reading now. I have at least a couple of hours left before I turn into a pumpkin.

Thank you for writing. I'm glad this is a finished story.

I'd thought you'd read this thing before now?   Oh well, I'm glad you're enjoying this.   I have seen Mythbusters, but not that episode.

I bet I'm more glad than you that this is finally finished.~Jim

This is an amazing tale. I don't like the Ginny you've created, but you've done a great job of creating this whole scenario with Dumbledore/Ginny/Hermione/Molly trying to bring Harry and Ginny together.

I even like the struggle you have Harry and Dumbledore going through to probably become reluctant allies.

Just very well done.

JBern replied:

Ginny gets   very poor treatment in both my stories.   She pays a high price for her redemption later.

One of the most interesting parts in this story to me is at the moment, everyone is afraid Harry will become the next Voldemort.   Harry is afraid he will become the next Dumbledore.   Interesting contrast, no?~Jim
