It definately was worth the wait. The duels were well written and entertaining Im glad HJ is finally showing what he is really made of. I hope that we will see a bit more Harry and Fleur interaction in the upcoming chapter.

Good luck with finishing your draft for Dead eye hope everthing comes out easy for you and the way you want it.

That way you can get back to writting your fanfics sooner :P

Forget doing TML next do another chapter on this story. Its going to be a while i guess until your next update on thise :( but im sure it will be worth the wait again.

Have fun!!

JBern replied:

Nah, I need to get back to TML first.   I'm just about done with Dead Eye and should be writing fanfic by this time next week.~Jim

I feel greedy reading two chapters in two days especially considering the coming hiatus, but I couldn't resist.

So good to see Cedric written as someone capable of duelling, though not as well as Harry, at least with a bit of flair. Loved the dog fight especially. The Hat, as always, is a filthy delight especially the stuff about Molly naked (eurgh). Ginny is a least starting to come to her senses.

The French girls' conversation was good fun. I like the fact that Fleur can see others have power and grant them respect for it. Love the Dark Lord thinking line. Nice balancing out of her ice queen character with the parts about developing an aura.

McGonagall is brilliant as always. Loved Harry's trick on the twins. Nice to see he can still have fun with Hermione even if it is spell driven. The fight between HJ and Athena was excellent. Nice to see that the Krum fight was just as exciting and that HJ and Cedric continue on good enough terms to share pointers.

I'm glad you went with the mark of the Cur for Draco's punishment. It seems really nicely fitting. I seem to recall Sarah being one of the victims of the first war. Love to see where you're going with this. Brilliant as always. More please. Good luck with Dead Eye, we'll be waiting (im)patiently for your return.

JBern replied:

Finally catching up on my reviews.   Thanks as always for yours.   I'm just about to wrap the first draft of Dead Eye and am looking forward to my fanfic return.~Jim

Ohhhhh, eeeevile much?
Just leave us hanging, really, we don't mind.
Very descriptive and satisfying fight scenes - one wonders if the Durmstrang contingent will try anything outside the confines of the competitions.

Cue music
"When you're a Durm,
you're a Durm all the way,
from your first Cossack dance
to your last dying day. . ."

Cue Cedric
"Athena, I've jest met a girl
named Athena. . ."

Cue Fleur
"Go away English Pig-dogs,
Or I shall taunt you anozer time!"

Okay, I’m better now

Write on, write on.

N!

Glad you liked it.   My hiatus is just about over and I'll be getting back to my fanfics in the next few days.   Thanks as always.~Jim

Loved the dungbomb joke, and the duels were very good. I love how you are making Fleur a real person and not just walking tits.

JBern replied:

Yeah, too often Fleur is just a walking sex toy.   I wanted to probe the female behind the aura.   (Get your mind out of the gutter!)   And... nobody died in this chapter either!   What is the world coming to.   I have to fix that.

Jim

"who is sarah underhill?"

the thousand galleon question.....

you are one devious fucker, jbern. please, run with this tiny subplot. i for one would like to hear sirus's feelings on sarah underhill. it's presumed that snape performed foul play on the poor girl. sirus should get a laugh out of hj's charmed badges initative.

you have to provide the rita skeeter article that's sure to come out with harry's latest words. in this case, rita's brand of twisting words really aren't needed. hj's diatribe was plenty biting.

he would choose muggles over the malfoys. as michael kelso on that 70s show would say:

"BURN!"

JBern replied:

Glad you like it.   I could personally see Dumbledore telling HJ to lay off Snape because he is on the side of the light and HJ saying, "Like I give a crap."   (or something a bit stronger)

Hiatus is almost over and I'll be writing fanfics again next week.~Jim

Ohh, now that's satisfying. Though I won't believe it until it's actually applied. The switching spell was a nice touch.

Thanks.   Glad you enjoyed it.   More coming soon.~Jim

This is a great fic, I've been reading it from when you first started posting it. I'm sad to say that it will be awhile before it's updated again but you do have a life of your own and a real book to write and not this free fanfic stuff.

keep up the great work

Hope your novel wraps up well. I find writing endings takes a lot of consideration. Sometimes months or a year to pick just the right end.

JBern replied:

Writing the ending of my coauthored novel this week.   Just a matter of making the scene happen.   I'll be back to fanfics by the middle of next week.   Thanks for the review.~Jim

Thanks for another fantabulous chapter!

Good luck with your book, too. Consider at least one copy pre-sold.

Thanks, I appreciate the vote of confidence and hope that Dead Eye delivers.   I'm writing the final installment this weekend and by the middle of the next week plan on being back to fanfics.

Er... why did HJ says "former Potions instructor"? I thought Snape is still the prof?

JBern replied:

Well HJ is taking his lessons from Poppy.   Thanks for the review.   I'm finally catching up on my replies.   My fanfics are starting up again within the next 7 days.~Jim

It's The Mark of the Cur!!! I can't wait. :D

Another excellent chapters, Snape is going to be furious with the new Sarah Underhill's badge and I love the line about the price of your fame between Fleur and Harry. It's a great buildup to Harry/Fleur relation. You've the talent of keeping us on the line at the end of each of your chapter. I personally can't wait for the next 4 weeks to pass. What I am going to do in the next month without lie....

Good Luck with Dead Eye! :)

JBern replied:

Well hopefully you've made it through the month.   Dead Eye is just about done (with 1st draft) and I'll be back on my fanfics next week.   Turn Me Loose gets it first, but I'm already thinking about where this one needs to go next.~JIm

Another interesting, well written chapter.

Fleur might have to start reexamining HJ after this. I quite like how, despite HJ's and Hermione's warnings, she did not heed them and went out with Bill. Considering her disdain for HJ, it's far more believeable for her to ignore the warning than to accept it.

The duels were amazing, very creative, original and fun to read.

I wish you luck on the completion of 'Dead Eye', and am eagerly awaiting the next chapter in around six weeks.

well, that was pretty kickass... =) HJ owns Krum and Manos, owns the twins and even started a ownage campaign against Snape. And he's planning on shooting down a certain curse breaking Weasley? Oh Yeah, this chap was worth the wait. =) good Luck with your story draft and i'll see you around when you update next ... =)

Evan Mayerle posted a comment on Monday 17th March 2008 5:25pm for What's the Price of Your Fame?

*wicked chuckle* I do like the payback in this one as HJ stepped up his dueling and definitely got the notice of the masses by winning when he was the long shot (I have to wonder how many had faith enough to bet on him and won big?). I don't feel a bit sorry for the Twins, though I do feel a tad sorry for the rest of the dorm who have to deal with the side effects.

The discussions with Rita are amusing and it'll be interesting to see what results his quoted comments bring. Equally interesting are the interludes with Fleur et al. I have to wonder what she'd say if she knew that was Harry's animagus form?

Finally, the bit with the buttons was a crafty touch and 'twill be interesting to see the reactions to the propegating changes.

JBern replied:

Glad you enjoyed HJ finally letting loose and taking care of business.   I'm just about ready to start writing my fanfics again and can finally catch up on all the reviews.   Thanks for all of yours and I hope that I can continue to impress.~Jim

Just a perfect update in my mind. I loved the smack down of Krum and Manos. I was glad to hear what Fleur had to say about Harry.

Great job with the twins and I can't wait to hear Fleur's opinion of Bill.

Good luck with your original work.

Thank you for the compliments.   I hope I can deliver the wildly entertaining story everyone here seems to crave.   Wish me luck.~Jim

That was one well written dueling actions.

It looks like Fleur starting to mellow out a bit I wonder what her reaction would be if/when she finds out he's Pronghorn?

JBern replied:

I'm guessing Fleur is going to find out eventually...

Glad you enjoyed the duels.   Hiatus almost over and I'll be starting up my fanfics again shortly.
