Harry needs to reply to that statment. Maybe pointing out that he is only killing Wizards, and that Voldy wants to rule the world.

Great Chapter

This is good. I thought the interview with Moldy Shorts was interesting. It shows his intelligence even if his logic is off. Some of the things he said even made sense. That is the dangerous part. Even Hitler made some sense and was a dynamic speaker. It was his deeds that told the tale. I'm glad Harry is angry. I'm glad Susan is watching out for him and the other students around him. I look forward to the next chapter. This is a good story. Please keep it going. Thanks for writing. pms

JBern replied:

Well that's what I was shooting for.   Voldy was supposed to originally be the ultimate slytherin with charm and charisma.   Somewhere along the way most seem to have forgotten that.   More chapters coming soon.~Jim

Neville ends up killing what is essentially an innocent bystander. If he ever realizes that . . . Hmm. Will he fall apart or just shrug and continue his mission?

Very clever article by LV, though I notice that Rita went very far out of her way to not say anything to annoy him (as opposed to Harry or AD). That article, though . . . Good tack for him to take. And implicitly implicating Scrimgouer and/or Harry in the spat of murders that HE did. He is a clever political manipulator, gotta give him that.

Clever story going, Jim.

JBern replied:

Good lord!   I am so far behind on my replies.   My apologies.   Glad you liked the article and yes Rita did not want to offend LV.   LV was supposed to be the Ultimate Slyterhin with all the charm and charisma.   So many of us forget that and turn him into a comic book goon.   Thanks again~Jim

Whoa, first off, that part with Neville at the start was chilling, and I'm wondering how far he'll eventually go before things get so out of hand, that he's attacking people that Harry trusts? Very creepy with Tom's interview, and he can twist things much like a good politician, heck, if he didn't have his DE's running around, he'd probably have been able to get into office and taken over without as much trouble. Looking forward to Harry's return salvo, and what might happen because of it,a s well as more of Charles and Narcissa, who seem to be growing ever more comfortable with each other.

JBern replied:

Goodness!   I'm trying to catch up on these reviews and I have almost 60 waiting for me over at Bungle (including one from you- thanks for both!).   Neville is supposed to be chilling and I doubt he'll be able to keep it under control for long.   Glad you liked the twists in the interview.   More chapters coming soon.~Jim

Interesting. So the Dark Lord knows the value of publicity after all.

I have to wonder about Neville. Just how carefully does he pick his targets? Misguided fanaticism is never a good thing is my book, no matter which side it occurs on.

I'm looking forward to the next chapter of 'Bungle in the Jungle'! See you there!

JBern replied:

Neville  certainly is scary.   LV would be a fool to ignore the power of the press.   Especially when the people are such sheep.   Thanks again for the review, sorry for my tardy reply.~Jim

Hell yeah.
Voldie giving an exclusive. That's a new one in my book at least. Bloody brilliant. You know, your Voldemort has an incredible Style.
So does Susan, finally. She's been a bit dull and all ...wifey, but the closing comment in this chapter was great and please do keep that up.
The slight re-edit of the DADA-lesson made a clear difference, by the way.

Glad you enjoyed it.   The chapters have echoed Harry's feelings of sort of being adrift.   That should end now.   More chapters coming soon, but Bungle 21 and Lie 3 are up first.~Jim

That's quite a finish to that chapter. It's interesting that Voldie has apparently learned something from the muggle terrorists, the power of the press. I'll be most interested in seeing Harry's response to this sallie.

Beyond that, I like the growing relationship between Charlie and Narcissa, it should prove rather interesting to see how others react to it when they return to England.

JBern replied:

Bungle 21 and Lie 3 are up first, but I will be back to this one soon.   I am glad you enjoyed the Voldy article so much and Charlie/Cissa.   They're fun to write.   More chapters coming soon.~Jim

Beautiful. A few grammar bits here and there to quibble about, but I've never ever read a story quite so enthralling when it comes to providing every single side of an issue, with all the intrigue and viciousness and passion they entail. Your ideas are spectacular and your presentation superb. Thanks for another chapter in this highly enjoyable tale!

JBern replied:

Thanks.   Aplogies for the tardy reply on my part.   I've been very busy.   Sometimes I wish I had just decided to write one side of the war and not both sides and the middle.... :)

Bungle 21 and Lie 3 are coming first, but I will be back to this story soon.~Jim

Given the intellectual depth of the WW world, I would expect the reaction to Rita's little article to be the same as muggle's reaction. "See, we just need to understand and come to common goals and all the terrorism will go away."

JBern replied:

Don't you just love the easily led sheep?   Thanks for the review.   I apologize for taking 12 days to respond.   Things have been busy.   Bungle 21 and Lie 3 are up first, but I will be back to the next installment of this story shortly.~Jim

Heh, good stuff. Rita is an acquired taste, but her particular brand of utter self-service can be amusing. :)

Thanks.   Sorry for the delay in responding to your review.   Glad you are enjoying the story.   I really enjoy writing as Rita, sad isn't it?   More chapters coming soon.~Jim

I love the way you write Rita Skeeter. You make her a very real character instead of just a crazy, hell-bent on getting the story, one-dimensional character.

Actually, you have a way of doing that in general with your characters. Vividly characterizing them so that they aren't just names on a page.

Sometimes, I found Harry to be a little over the top, but at least you've developed it well enough so that it isn't just out of nowhere.

Finally, your stamina for this story is amazing. I don't know how you're managing to get all this in, but you're doing a fine job of it. Looking forward to the next chapter!

JBern replied:

I really enjoy writing Rita.   It's a shameful guilty pleasure of mine.   I usually listen to Don Henley's Dirty Laundry to get me in the mood to write her, but it pays off.

Bungle 21 and Lie 3 are in line for updates first, but I will be back for the next chapter of this one soon.   Thanks again for your review!~Jim

Neville Longbottom - License to Kill. I like that a lot.

Parvati as press secretary and spin doctor is another great idea.

The Voldemort interview was clever and well in keeping wth your more intelligent Dark Lord approach.

Great chapter!

JBern replied:

Sometimes I wonder about my policy of responding to every review...   I've got nearly 60 over at Bungle to do after this!   Oh well, I guess it's a good kind of suffering.   :)

Glad you enjoy my contributions.   Compliments coming from other skilled authors mean just a bit more.~Jim

Much as I hate to see the problems for Harry, I like LV's campaign of slandering the Minister and deceit of the sheep. After all, he's the heir of Slytherin and supposed to be cunning instead of simply homicidal. I also like that Neville finds a tutor in the art of subtly weeding the castle. This promises very satisfying reading.
Malfoy Manor: not sure if Harry will enjoy staying there, it will probably not be the most cheerful place given the last landlord. Still, it could be redecorated and possibly there are some useful secrets to be found?
Stopping LV's recruiting efforts: Go Narcissa!

I believe saying that you like to write Rita Skeeter is the same as saying that you are a self-masochist. At least I think that is what it means.

Great chapter. Neville seems to have lost the way as to how the Dark should be fought. I wonder how long it will take for people to realize it is he who is the murderer.

Dawlish seems to be the Defense instructor that they have needed all along.

What is the wizarding world's equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize? Rita (as you have written her) would win it hands down. Excellent chapter, one that makes us ponder.
Neville descends deeper into darkness, when will he see that what he is doing is destructive to not only himself, but Harry as well?
What secrets will be revealed in the Old Malfoy Manor?
When will someone make a decent chocolate frog?
Inquiring minds want to know. . .

Rita is too much fun not to write.   Just crank up Don Henley's "Dirty Laundry" and let her rip.

Nice. Voldemort as the 'Wizards Wizard' Just looking out for all our interests. And Neville with Vampire backing? That can't be good. Get the chills reading this one.
*BRRR!* I need to go read some fluff!
