Wonderful section, and glad to see that Aimee is slowly recovering, and nice to see that magic isn't an instant cure-all. I have to wonder now who it was that Harry picked, though I'm thinking it was Alice, yes she may not be the best duelist, but Neville needs someone, and a Mum would be best for him imo. Looking forward to this and TML and can't wait to see how things continue to play out here. Glad to see that HJ and Remus are making a bit of positive headway, and that the bridge isn't completely burned.

Excellent, excellent story, JB! :D You're such a good writer....
And now I dislike you for that ending. BAD JB! :D
No, really, lovely, lovely update.

I'm starting chapter 19 tomorrow. Am I GOOD JB now?

This hands down is one of the best fics I have read.
Excellent characterizations. Engaging plot.
My only gripe (And it really isn't that much of one.) is that you always leave me hungering for more.
You have a lot of talent. An inspiration to the rest of us who merely dabble.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the compliments. Sorry I haven't had a chance to catch up on my replies until now. I'm starting the next chapter of Lie tomorrow.~Jim

- Just beautiful. It will be interesting to see the choice HJ makes, a boy who has, after a fashion, gotten his father back, making the choice between his friends parents.
- I suspect Alice will be the one revived, or at least the one revival is tried on.
- Thank you for this, and all your stories.

Thanks for the review. Always nice to hear from other authors that I respect.~Jim

AAAAHHHH! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Cliffie like that and then tell us you are moving to a different story? You.Are.Awesome.
No clue where you are going with the restoration. My vote is Alice - more to life than fighting, right?
Interesting twist with the widow, nice touch with Remus getting the story out of Sirus and the summary from HJ about the issues with the relationship was very nice.
Well done, thanks for the gift. Looking forward to TML and more of the LIE!

But now I'm back to this one ... starting tomorrow. Thanks for your review.

This is one great way to end the year. May all of you have an even better year than the one ending today.
Second quest, the lake, who is going to be taken... I can hardly believe it would be the hat, maybe Hermione, but they are not as close as they use to be.
Thanks for a nice chapter to top the year.

You'll have to see how I modify the water task, but you won't have to wait much longer. Thanks for the review.~Jim

tough choice. At first I thought it was wrong to not involve Neville in this... but on reflection (and I hope someone explains this to Nev) I think it is kind of him to spare Neville the agony of the decision.
I have purposefully never watched (or read) "Sophie's Choice", since I read what the premise was, and decided that I did not want to wallow in that kind of angst. I hope this doesn't lead to too much of that. Actually if you wanted to just punish your character, you would write that it fails and the person dies. I also hope you don't do that!
Honestly, based on what I've read so far in this chapter I have no clue as to who would be the best choice. Can't recall anything from earlier in the story that would apply either. What is more important to Neville, a mother figure or a father?
Again, thanks for sharing, it is turning out very captivating.

Excellent. That chapter was a lot of fun and I don't think I've ever read anything like it in the HP fandom. Lots of people touch on healing, but if there was ever anything that intense I've certainly never read it.
As for the HP/Fleur interaction, it was fairly low key but interesting. Slow relationships in fan fiction are better anyway. I'm not sure how they'll get together though with Fleur so opposed to it. I suppose I'll find out.
Later,
Rex

Truly a wonderful fic. There were many lol moments all along. The way you've handled Harry, the Hat and the Tournament is superb.
The Puzzle Room and the Race were really wonderful events. You truly write like a pro.
JBern replied:
I try. Thanks for the compliments. I'm finally catching up on my reviews. Hopefully, in a few weeks (mid February) you'll be in a position to give my original anthology a try.

Great chapter.
I was mildly disappointed that the dragon challenge wasn't changed more, but the way you had the different champions handle it, and especially Aimee's injury, really made it your own.
I'm also digging HJ's new relationship with DD.
Thanks for sharing this with us.

Great chapter.
Hope some heads will roll for pitting children against dragons.
I really hope Aimee will be alright... that she'll survive, that they'll save her arm -- and that she won't be disfigured.
That said, saving her friend in such a self-sacrificing way, surely must earn HJ some brownie-points with Fleur.
Funny prank played on the twins.
Only thing I missed in this chapter, was more of the obnoxious Hat... ripping into the twins was hardly even a challenge.
I'm looking forward to who and how will be serving/treating whom to breakfast, lunch and dinner... ought to be a few good laughs there.
Keep up the great work, and please update soon.

if you don't write professionally, you should. i have rarely read such engaging characters in purchased fiction. you have a way with dialoge--i have laughed out loud several times while reading this story. if you go pro, i hope you tell your fans your publishing name.
JBern replied:
Thank you for the compliment Allisan. I'm releasing a collection called Horror, Humor, and Heroes under my real name of Jim Bernheimer in less than 2 weeks. More information can be found at www.jimbernheimer.com.
It will be hard to get me to stop plugging my book...

this is one of the most enjoyable stories i have read to date in hp fanfic. i've heard about bungle, but never read it--couldn't deal with the tense! but i'm happy to find this story. the humor is adult humor--very refreshing! thanks for sharing

Don't forget that James was still only 22 or something, 17 isn't a stretch for him.
Although I'll admit, fourteen is limiting, he hasn't hit his growth spurt yet right?
Ah well, it can wait until after summer. 15 and 18 isn't quite as bad.
I figured HJ wouldn't take this event conventionally, he may have lacked points, but he sure wins on style.
The twins will be glad to see this one payed off however.
Was confused on overall points, until I re-read it and realised you were talking about overall points.

HAHAHA!!! Everyone's a critic! Haha!
...And how does Dumbles know who the Stones are anyway?!?!
WOO HOO! Finally another chapter! - and already it's too long before the next.
Cool Ideas for overcoming the dragon tasks, and really interesting what you're doing with HJ's healing knowledge.
Love it as usual.
Thanks!

Still catching up on review replies. Thanks for this one as well. It says on DD's chocolate frog card that he enjoys muggle bowling. He could have easily heard them there...
