Lol, this was funny, not just because it was McGonagall asking for his expulsion, but because he was predicting it truthfully, and that mention of Heroes was funny, as well, with the Save the Unicorn, Save the World bit.

As always I love your stories. The LIL is great not to mention this one. I just love how Harry is just driving people crazy by being raised by Sybil. Some people think he's nuts and other just don't know what to make of him. His conversations with Luna will be a trip. One question what about Lavender and Parvati? I bet they're probably Harry's few friends in Gryffindor. they're gossip queens and both believe in Divination. I would like to see how they react to this Harry. I bet the ball during the tournment will be different. This is good keep it up

Brilliant start; I can only imagine the conversations between this harry and luna! I really enjoyed this completely different perspective.

I hope all is going well with your original writing, and will try to have a look at it as soon as I can set aside the time.
Many thanks,

T

Very humorous.

When I first read on your home page you were considering this, I was like.. that will suck. But it is actually really really funny. You're an excellent writer.

Can't wait for the continuation of Lie I've Lived.

And just a suggestion after all your other projects, I think you would do a kick ass bad harry.

Rather amusing. I like it but not as much as TLIHL.

This story idea is brilliant!
I love that Harry's so right all the time that he seems spacedy =]

Any chance Hermione with succumb to his persuasion? Will he and Luna become friends?

And btw, LOVE the Heroes reference; I'm a rather avid fan myself =D

JBern replied:

Hermione's view of the magical world is a tad too inflexible for this version of Harry.   She does appear in chapter 2.   Luna also plays a big role in chapter 2.   I think you'll enjoy it when it is finally released.

Firenze as a familiar? You'd think that the centaur would find that degrading, not to mention that Sibyll would have a higher opinion of centaurs than that. After all, they're the best diviners in the magical world, right?

Amusing that you're actually making Divination a valid and truly useful branch as well.

Ought to be fun to read.

JBern replied:

Glad you're enjoying it.   I hope to have the entire arc completed when I conclude Lie, so I'll have something to release while I complete Turn Me Loose.

Wonderful!

Honestly?

I'm looking forward to Luna showing up. :-)

JBern replied:

She's got some good scenes in chapter 2.

All hail the conquering author! I love this fic! Get a move on with Lie, would you?

JBern replied:

Yeah, yeah.   Lie 22 is with the editors.   It should be out this weekend.   You could always download a pdf copy of Horror, Humor, and Heroes for something to read while you wait...:-)

Oh so interesting, not a super harry story. but still fun looking.

JBern replied:

Hopefully, it will be a nice little light-hearted romp.   Your reviews will let me know how I did.

Good start. I look forward to seeing the rest of it. I'm more in the camp of the "Harry's being too competent at divination," so I tried to come up with a reason why he'd be good.

My thinking is that every real seer can catch a few things here and there, depending on the whims of the powers. Sybil was able to get the horses and such because the powers wanted her with Harry. Harry has enough power that divination just works for him, but nobody believes it because it's been too long since there was a reliable seer.

I can't wait for Harry and Sirius to get together. I imagine it going one of two ways. Either Sirius is absolutely horrified to think that Harry believes that rubbish, or he takes it as Harry pranking the entire wizarding world:

"Brilliant prank, Harry. Let me know how I can help."

"It's not a prank, sir. I really believe it."

"Keeping in character at all times. Good, good. Just remember my offer, and let me know when you're going to tell them."

JBern replied:

Interesting idea with Sirius.   I'm outlining what I want to happen in chapter 3 over the weekend.

You are correct in that if you spend your life looking for signs and omens, you're bound to see a few right.

Alex Mcpherson posted a comment on Monday 6th April 2009 6:21am

first... oops, didn't review.
Second... series 3 is very good. I despised series 2. if you want to get up-to-date on it before going to watch 3, just read the pages on the heroes.wikia.com site.I did of the parts with claire and theflyinggit. I am talking about West there. :P
wait... oh yeah, there's two! :P

And this is funny. Okay I'll admit, not on par with Nonjon, but he is a very high standard to try and hold oneself too when this is the first (I believe) humor-driven fic of yours. You get plenty enough in Lie, Like with the Hat.
I guess I was just wondering where the first 'right hook' of the story was going to be, the big 'shocker' that isn't meant to be humorous...

JBern replied:

I'm actually trying to stick with a straight humor fic in this one.   We'll see how well I can pull it off.

oloros posted a comment on Monday 6th April 2009 12:02am

i like it! humorous but not full of one-liners, it also brings up the question of why do they need matchsticks?
it's a little sad harry doesn't have friends tho... who wouldn't want a little weirdo with celebrity status as a friend??
and i can't wait to facepalm at harry meeting lockheart
keep up the good work!

JBern replied:

Lockhart has an interesting part in chapter 2.   I think you'll enjoy it.

*snicker* This was lots of fun. I'm really looking forward to next year when Harry and Luna can be incomprehensible to everyone, including each other.

JBern replied:

They have some very fun scenes in chapter 2.   I'll be releasing this story on either a weekly or bi-weekly basis after Lie is completed.

Lynn Terald posted a comment on Sunday 5th April 2009 3:26pm

...Strange.

JBern replied:

Hopefully strange is good.

Nice work...I was going to offer myself to Bob and Alex to be their minion, but after reading this, can I be yours instead?

JBern replied:

What exactly should I expect out of a newly acquired minion?   Thanks for the review.

fanfic789 posted a comment on Sunday 5th April 2009 10:41am

this is a really funny story
please update this soon

JBern replied:

I plan to have the whole story done and prepared for release at the conclusion of The Lie I've Lived in either weekly or bi-weekly  installments.
