I doubt this harry would have kept the same ward scheme Narcissa communicated, I know I wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her and would plan alternates to everything with nobody being aware of the complete setting beside me and I certainly wouldn't rely on magic only to protect the house, remotely activated claymores, gatling gun hidden inside the walls and some system to power the automated defenses besides my own.
On top of that wards activated after the first layer was broken to cut the attacking force in two would complete the system.
Harry is far from being stupid he should have at least part of that in place especialy with the ease wizards have to travel abroad and bring the needed supply from there.

Ooooh! The banshee was a wonderful touch there! lol I can sense that the next chapter will need an awful lot body bags =|
And Rita is dead! Right after she escaped too ... I'm looking forward to seeing her remaining articles, actually =)
JBern replied:
Well, I can promise you there are several boxes of body bags needed next chapter. Yeah too bad about Rita, but it was such a nice way to transition the story and cover the passage of time.~Jim

Woah! That was intense!
An excellent chapter, beautifully paced and masterfully written. Even now, I'm unsure Harry will prevail.
Your descriptions of a smart, tactically savvy Voldemort are chilling, and the various methods you have him using are both logical and vicious.
I am twitching with anticipation of the final chapter.
JBern replied:
Glad you liked the ride. It's almost coming back into the station, but there is one more big turn ahead! I look forward to your comments when you see the finale.~Jim

I presume the title of this chapter "Its always darkest" Is the first half of "Its always darkest just before the dawn" which would imply that the light is going to win.
I want Hermione to die painfully.
My bet is on Harry dying. You have said several times you want this to be like Saving private ryan and in that Tom Hanks dies.
It would also be on of only 3 stories I;ve read that harry dies in so thats a bigg ++
I honestly thought there would be more panic in the castle After Dumbledore died.
JBern replied:
I'll be curious to see what you think of the conclusion. I'll post it when I get it back from editing. Thanks for all the reviews.
Doesn't everyone want Hermione to die painfully?

Whoa. Good stuff. I hope Narcissa steps on a land mine somewhere.
Looking forward to the slaughter, I mean conclusion.
JBern replied:
I kind of like Cissy. She's an impressive gal. More slaughter err conclusion ahead!~Jim

Thanks for the nod! I'm delighted to have reported that Rita is dead *bwg*. Well, you do have 'darkness' in the title... sure is looking dark from here. I'm glad the next bit is already with Kokopelli for beta, since you've left us off rather hanging. I can hardly believe that the next chapter will be "it"!
JBern replied:
Who doesn't like a good cameo? I've been ready to finish this beast for over 2 months. Thank goodness it's here! Hopefully, I'm going out on top in this story.~Jim

fantastic new that this long epic is drawing to a close, although this story standard is mile ahead of 99.9% of other fanfics it pales in comparison to your other two WIP.
Another excellent chapters, your newspaper articles weren't the best, but I'm probably been over critical seen that my history is in journalism!
Excellent chapter Jim

I thought it was pretty good in the vein of Rita. I was doing my best to write from her mindset.~Jim

you sir are a tease!
Great chapter, but that evil cliffhanger after all this time is almost more than i can bear!
JBern replied:
Well, the finale would have been a tiresome 16000 words. I decided to break it up in two. Sorry about that. Well, not really.~Jim

Outstanding chapter!!!! So we'll get the last chapter before the Epilogue by say what Wednesday? I can't wait because I want to read how Moldieshorts dies and how you kill off the Banshee! I know you could always have Ginny scream at it or my ex-girlfriend! So any chance of Harry actually living past this next fight with Moldie? What kind of jobs will Harry be able to git after he finishes school since he's basically spent all of his time training to kill Moldie? Do keep up the outstanding work and update soon please!:):):):)

I think the end will impress you. I'm glad to see this story finish.~Jim

Btw, have I said how much I love this series, hmmm?
No?
sad. Anyway, I really like the fact that St. Potter and his nemesis are diametrically opposed. Whereas LV would be clamoring on stage to be the one in front of the people (if the positions were reversed), HP demures and wishes nothing to do with it.
I really like the level of detail that you have in your characters, and hell, I even like Narcissa.
JBern replied:
What's not to like about Cissy? I look forward to your comments about the finale.~Jim

You, Sir, are a two-bit four-flushing dirty rotten low-down expurgated indiscriminate LITERARY TEASE! Other than that, nice setup for the finale, with your oodles of plot threads. Looking forward to whatever disastrous ending you've concocted for our heroes/villains.
I still love how your version of the arch-villain has only one true weakness: His ego.

Well, it would have put the final chapter at 16000 words. That seemed a bit long. I hope it impresses you.~Jim
