Outstanding chapter!!!! Wow thats the way Neville should always die in a blaze of glory fighting. I however think Neville was so hell bent on revenge that it twisted him into something not worth knowing in the long run. I loved what Neville had Parkinslut do that was awesome. What will happen to Neville if he isn't really dead? Do keep up the outstanding work and update soon please:):):):)
JBern replied:
Thanks. I think it was the little touches like Neville still hero worshipping Harry while killing the snakes that really drove home how far gone Neville was by that point. Next chapter in 2 weeks.~Jim

Fuck, Draco lives. Too bad - finally one I wouldn't miss.
But at least he knows what a big pain in the ass feels like now. :)
JBern replied:
You bet he does! No guarntee he'll make it to the end, so you might still get your wish.~Jim

I knew Ginny wouldn't survive those curses and that fall. Another brutal chapter to fill the Daily Prophet's Obituary page.
I think the funniest part is that Neville had a chance of blaming it all on Coedus, but he went off on a rampage and got killed by a pen knife. Still, if it was up to me he'd be in line for an Order of Merlin 1st Class.
JBern replied:
Yeah, I have to update the obits in my ffa thread. Neville was too far gone to realize that he could have pawned it off on the Vampire. Glad you enjoyed it. Next chapter in 2 weeks.~Jim

WOW Neville went nuts! Boy the crap hit the fan everywhere.

Indeed it did. Hopefully, it was realistic enough for your tastes. Next chapter in 2 short weeks.~Jim

Holy Crap!, He Killed Neville!
MUWAHAHAHAHA!
Loving it , Loving It! Once again JBern, your words do more than just destroy characters, they make us love their deaths!

If it's going to be brutally violent, it should be done with a flair. Hopefully, I'll continue to impress you through the conclusion of this story. (I promise that my epilogue won't leave you scratching your head.)~Jim

Wow, it seems like the month of the Grim Reaper, of course I think your bodycount is a bit higher (and slightly more reptilian) than JKR's.
I like your characterizations of, well, everybody. Fatal flaws abound, and no plan survives the first engagement with the enemy!
Write on, write on!
JBern replied:
I don't know, she casually mentioned that there were about 50 dead towards the end, but I'd like to think that mine actually felt more realistic to you the readers.
Flawed characters are much more engaging than paragons of virtue. I hope I continue to impress you through the conclusion of this story. (More of your story soon I hope!)~Jim

Neville, ah, murderous Neville. I'm finding it hard not to cheer Malfoy's executioner, and yet ...
JBern replied:
When I started this story, I looked at time travel stories where Harry is always angsting about how awful the war was. So, I decided to really show the readers how awful the war should be without the luxury of escaping to the past. When finished, I hope it will be called the Saving Private Ryan of HP fanfics.~Jim

Thank you for the kind words. DH was a disappointment to me, but I'm clearly not JKR's target audience. Next chapter in 2 weeks. I hope I can continue surprising you to the end and promise that my epilogue won't leave you hanging like that.~Jim

Good fight scene, very exciting.
And I can see reasons why you have the whole Neville subplot; showing how the line between good guys and bad guys can be pretty arbitrary and how easy it is to cross.
But honestly, it's been rather depressing and has largely felt, to me, like a distraction from the real story. So I can't say I'm sorry that Neville's run is over.
Still, thanks for sharing this with us.
JBern replied:
I'm kind of glad to be rid of that sub-plot as well. It did go on slightly longer than it should have. War does have a way of bringing out the worst in all of us. Next chapter in 2 weeks. Thanks for all the reviews.~Jim

Fastastic, gruesome, morbid, well done chapter.
No one in HP fanfiction has ever come close to what you conceived and executed for Neville Logbottom. I highly prize originality and unique plot twists.
Poor Ginny.
Cheers!
JBern replied:
When completed, I hope this will be the Saving Private Ryan of HP fanfics - a brutal and disturbing vision of what a wizarding war would really look like.~Jim

very appropriate chapter title.
good story, a lot of deaths though, I wonder if there's going to be anyone left at the end:P
I didn't like it that malfoy killed neville it just didn't feel right, if you had to kill neville at least have greengrass do it...
but despite that I really like this story so can't wait till the next chapter:)
JBern replied:
It was tempting to let Daphne do it, but I wanted the whole Draco vs Neville thing - it seemed more fitting. Thanks for the review. Next chapter in 2 weeks.~Jim

Ok, good chapter. Nice to see you doing a bit of cleaning the house.
JBern replied:
Well trying to bring the story to a conclusion means I have to end the sub plots. Some of them end rather brutally....~Jim

GFreat chapter. He might have died but HAGRID WENT OUT LIKE A FUCKING PIMP!!!!!! THAT SHIT WAS AWESOME
JBern replied:
One of my favorite moments in the fic. It was raw, brutal and powerful along the lines of the Snape and Harry fight later.~Jim

That was awesome. I'm reading through now and would normaly reserve a review for the latest chapter....BUT THAT WAS PERFECT. Talk about a hit and run on Cissy's behalf!
JBern replied:
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed Cissy's character. I think you'll be impressed by her when she makes a return appearance later in the story.~Jim

ah... that had to hurt...
and down the drain goes Neville Longbottom's schemes and machinations.
so, what happens now?
and when's Harry gonna wise up to what's happening around him and slap some sense into several people, namely Draco and i'd say Ginny, but... she already got enough with this ending. eh... its all good though...
good chapter...
and like i thought...
it just isn't gettin any easier for Harry...
not at all...
Adios for now...
and see you when you update...

Neville is terrifying me with these new character developments, especially his whole appreciation of witch-curves because of Pansy. The whole fight between Lily, James and Harry was superb. Love the use of the Inferi in this way. Narcissa on the other hand continues to be an utter joy, especially when pregnant and arguing with Molly. And that final part proves that not feeling sorry for Pansy is the right thing to do.
Absolutely superb chapter. I love the total darkness of this, though I do feel sorry for the Weasleys. Great stuff. More please.
JBern replied:
Glad you liked it. Chapter 36 is being planned right now. I hope you enjoy movie 5 and book 7.~Jim
