Wow, there are a lot of pebbles rolling down the mountain now it will be interesting to see what crops up in the landslide at the bottom. Thanks for writing. W.

Whoa. So many new things here that I've not run across often in other stories. Enjoying the Delacour family being hostile yet likeable. The detailed inclusion of voodoo elements, too. The accents were amusing.
I'm glad it's not just Harry's side that's bringing their game to another level. Neville is pushing his own agenda. It was him that had the house elf look for an item right? Voldemort's making use of his Potter blood. I'm hoping this will all come to a conclusion soon.
JBern replied:
You are correct. Bessie was assigned to Neville by Sprout a few chapters ago. Just goes to show you what careless orders can do...
I'm glad you enjoy the different takes such as the inclusion of Voodoo. I hope to keep the ride lively until the very last chapter.~Jim

Twists and turns aplenty.
Good chapter, thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks. I hope to keep the roller coaster ride going into the very last chapter.~Jim

Oh this doesn't sound good. I can't imagine how Harry will react to Voldemort using his parents against him. Thank you for this update. I look forward to more. p

Depends on if Harry survives what Tom has in store for him....Jim

Has our petulant nymph ever heard of "need to know?"
Too bad Nev couldn't get a more attractive slave. I don't care what happens to her, I just would like Nev to get over his psychosis. Killing DEs is good. Screwing around with your friends is bad.
JBern replied:
Well if need to know doesn't extend to your assigned bodyguard, then obviously, you don't need a bodyguard...
Neville's doing it for the cause! Don't you get it? They have to be stopped now! Can't you see? He's a hero!
Actually, there are several cliche Harry's running around Kill 'em all Harry (Neville), Independent free of all his bonds Harry (Draco - returning next chapter) and of course the real Harry in this story. Some of them are on a collison course...

"The state of reanimation practice in Europe was truly deplorable."
Truly dreadful how young people have no appreciation for zombies these days. lol
JBern replied:
I'll answer as Voldemort, just for you....
It sickens me to see how poorly the wizarding youth of Europe are being prepared these days. NEWTS and OWLS have become a joke. Were I in charge, the magical folk would be better prepared for the horrors the Muggles might unleash. We cannot hope to match the Muggles in numbers, but if we had a truly horrifying stockpile of Inferii ready to release at a moments notice, then we could rest easier.
For I say unto you, that the Muggles die by the thousands every day and I shed a tear for all those dead bodies that simply go to waste for lack of the proper schooling to utilize them...

Whoa, now that was intense, in several ways, whether Harry almost nonchalantly taking out the DE's, or the spell used on Lily's body, the way that Neville has gone further round the twist, and that Susan might be indanger from him it seems, I can't wait to see the next part, and to see what this might mean for the whole group facing Voldie now.
JBern replied:
Glad you enjoyed the intensity. After listening to people say over the past few chapters that this story has slipped, it's nice to hear that.~Jim

definitely worth it, especialy since you gave us the finale of Bungle in the mean time.
Philisophically, Does the body retain any portion of the personality that wore it from birth? Is it merely a puppet, with every movement controlled and willed by the instigator of the evil magic?
Is Neville just insane, or have the temptations of power put him the path to end up on the wrong side of Harry's wand before the end??
Great work, thanks so much for sharing it with us. I particularly enjoy the way Harry is becoming moire conscious of his responsibilities toward Susan..
Warmest regards

It's pretty cool to go, 'I have a completed novel length story now...' Of course this one will be topping 300K by the time it's done!
All good questions about the body and Neville's descent. Too bad I can't answer! Next chapter in 2 weeks.~Jim

Lots of action in this one, and as always, I appreciate an interesting ritual.
Acme, huh? I guess I'll have to turn Snape into Daffy Duck <g>
And Neville is going to be interesting.

I suspect that Tom has made his fatal error with this one. Unless you're dealing with the version of the revenant that CAN'T stop until their mission is done, even if you entirely destroy their body. (It supposedly reconstitutes somehow, and continues its mission.) If that's the case, then the only way for Harry to win is to die.
If they can be destroyed, then Tom made his mistake there. They're just bodies. Harry has no real love for them, and if anything, the act will simply make the destruction of Voldemort that much more horrific for Riddle.
It's sad about Neville, though. His "uncle" has turned him into the perfect revenge machine against the wizarding world. Just how many will Neville kill before he's put down like a rabid dog? His uncle will eventually convince him, I suspect, to turn on Susan and Harry. "Traitors to the cause" sort of thing, and he'll try to kill them.
*laugh* I suspect that the real purpose of this story is to depopulate the entire planet. (I'm joking, of course, but this one does have a high body count.)
JBern replied:
You'll have to wait and see for exactly how the Revenants are to be used, but I think you'll be pleased. The body count isn't that high yet...
I think what really stands out are the deaths in this story are more meaningful and pack an emotional wallop. Who really cares that Goyle dies? He gets it in most every story! But if I give you 500-1000 words of what's going on in his head, you're more attached to him when death comes calling for him. The added shock value of Neville doing it was a plus though...
Glad you continue to enjoy, even though you stole the top spot from my story by posting a new chapter of yours.~Jim

Well, I've sat here and read this in 2 days, in between cleaning my house to prepare for a family visit. I like this one as much as I like Bungle in the Jungle, which was absolutely fantastic. Very much looking forward to more!

Its taken me a while to get to read this for some reason, but without further ado I will review as I know how much you like it when us readers do!
Great opening to the chapter. Neville is so cold that he joked about falling off a broom if he tried for the Quidditch team. Lol! So funny!
Sometimes your ideas just work so well that its kind of scary. Harry buying the Malfoy house, Susan joking with Harry about fireproof knickers when he is pissed off over old Voldie's manifesto.
Now, onto Voldie's manifesto what pure genius. I've commented on how realistic you make Voldemort, you manage to create a borderline psychopath that still retains some of the charm that he must have had to gain so many fanatical followers.
My only quibble with this story has to actually be Susan. She is well written and I think stays true to what we know of her in cannon. Its really what we assume we know because she is a 'puff as she isn't used much in the books. She just seems wet and almost weak in comparison to the strength of your Harry. I think she seems to be grounding him and trying to help save him from himself so to speak but at times she seems like the comic relief to ease tension. Sounds like I'm ranting and I don't mean it quite as badly as it sounds, I think your a great writer just thought I would give you some of my thoughts on what is a large and integral character.
Thanks for writing!
Monkey
JBern replied:
Well, you get the reply even though Monkey wrote this review. Because of the pregnancy, Susan will take a grounding role in Harry's life. Unlike many other heroines in other stories, she realizes how badly out classed she is by Harry. I think she's had some good moments throughout the story, the battle in the Gringott's lobby comes to mind.~Jim

I never thought of the Rita situation like that before and my guess is that neither did JKR. Rita was meant to be just a plot device that was necessary in OotP nothing more. Besides I never got the impression that cannon Rita was that bright (BTW, your Rita is much more fun to read about) and neither were the Slytherins that she revealed her animagus form to (until Draco's sudden IQ spike during HBP). Besides what reason would they have to blackmail her, she made their year by humiliating Harry in the press! Can't wait to see what you have planned for the bodies of James and Lily! Or for Frank and Alice for that matter! The Lockhart bit was nice in that we don't get to see much of him in most other fics. In fact you may have set a record for the number of lines you gave him. So Is Luna dead seeing as she fell off a broom! And will Nev go even more psycho after this? Great chapter! Well written as always, keep it up!!!!!
JBern replied:
Chapter 33 now up for your enjoyment. I do like my version of Rita better. Imagine the mayhem she and Narcissa could cause as a tag team!
The answer to your Neville question is a definite yes! Thanks for the review.~Jim

Okay, please stop killing off all the Weasleys. No more now. In fact, don't kill off any more good guys. It's becoming really depressiong...well, not enough to stop reading of course but...

Glad you liked it! I'm trying to finish off Bungle, so I can say that I have a completed story, but I'll be back to this soon.
