If this is DH complient then Harry killing Dumbledore would make him the elder wand's master, a good reason for Dumbledore to try to arange for Harry to kill him as long as he could also arange for Harry to get his wand.
Interesting chapter,
Jay

I just don't really know what to say... I mean, I am all for Harry & Hermione togetherness, but how this all went down is just SO WRONG! I am actually hoping that Harry offs Dumbles. And that it hurts. Essentially he just date raped his two students! Here's to hoping that the fallout of this scenario leads to Harry and Hermione having an even better friendship than before this debacle that started in "Bungle" unfolded. Perhaps Harry will come to realize that he CAN unburden himself to Hermione again and tell her of his troubles. Seems like he needs that constant in his life. And I would be not opposed to seeing Hermione get preggers... maybe having a little one around could eventually help take some of the jadedness off Harry (since it seems like he won't be seeing too much of his & Lauren's kid...) I am also interested in seeing Luna's reaction to all of this.
All and all, an interesting and thought provoking chapter, if a bit shocking...

Harry and Hermione should march into the Great Hall and in front of the entire frickin' school ask Pomfrey about that balm. Oh, I'm sure it'll blow up in their face somehow, but publically and jointly accusing Dumbledore of what he's doing will strip him of some of his power in the school. Or at least the blind followers.
Anyway, nice conversation with Snape. Interesting that he's so hell bent on protecting Draco, though. That Unbreakable Vow, probably. He and Harry will butt heads if he doesn't actually do something about an enemy Malfoy, though. And I don't like Snape's chances of survival nor Harry's coming out of it healthy.
Damn, both Dobby and Winky were killed. Kreacher is probably more appropriate for Harry in this mental state, though.
Wow, this is getting dark and convoluted. Endlessly fascinating, though. Looking forward to the next chapter.

LOL at Holy house elf balls - always an amusing line. I like the scene between Snape and Harry - the beginnings of a dark alliance there, methinks. Harry would do well to use him then lose him, because sooner or later Snape will turn on everyone. Love Harry's blase response to Hermione and Tonks's double act.
Right, er, er, er, I'm not sure how to respond to this one other than to point out than Luna is going to be royally pissed if she ever finds out. While Dumbledore is definitely conniving enough to come up with this, it's still a step further into the dark than you usually take. It was, afterall, essentially a double rape. I hope that fertility potion doesn't take effect as a Luna / baby Hermione / Harry triangle might be more than a little awkward. Speaking of Luna, when are we going to see more of her?
Excellent chapter - a real walk on the dark side. Poor Hermione. Funbags indeed. More please.

Dang, now that was a twist, and had me wishing for Dumbledore to really hope that his eventual fall hurts, most preferable by it being caused by his plans not working out how he oh so carefully sets them up. A really hot moment there with Harry and Hermione, and then for the reveal at the end, got to say, I can't wait for the next part and the decisions that follow up from this.

DUDE! This story has definitely gotten darker in this chapter - I like the fun loving Harry who occasionally has extreme situations - this chapter felt more like "Fight" than TML.
Very interesting - Deals with Snape and anger at DD; DD turning Harry against the Staff (or at least Pomfry), DD's complicity in the loss of the Homuniculus . . . wow. Nice, complex, dark and getting darker. Definitely a different feel here - was that what you were going for?

Sometimes short chapters are just what the doctor ordered, and I have to admit that you did choose a great place to end it.
I really enjoyed the interactions between Snape and Harry in this chapter, but what obviously took over were Dumbledore's manipulations. That's one helluva death wish he's got going. If only Harry knew what we know...then he could lock Dumbledore away, allowing him to die painfully and Snape and Malfoy to fail at their appointed tasks. Ah, in a perfect world.
But one of the things that makes you such a great writer is that you don't give us a perfect world, you give us a real one. Real-ish.
Looking forward to more.

A thousand apologies for not leaving feedback on each of the excellent chapters in each of your excellent stories. Mea culpa, and I hope that's spelled correctly.
I liked this chapter in spite of how short it seemed to be. Following the song lyrics, will Hermione or D'dore be the one who tries to tie Harry down? My guess is it really all comes back to D'dore, with hid dying and needing the wards to be as strong as possible.
I had thought that D'dore had a hand in Pansy stealing the homunculus, but seeing as Hermione knows of the Horcruxes/Horcruces, I'm not sure he would have taken the risk that Pansy might find out and report to Voldemort that Harry is hunting them. Then again, Voldemort may already know that and I've just forgotten that he does.
One question I have is whether Harry's masquerading as being possessed by Chilotha, and whether anything will come of Umbridge going to Brazil. Maybe Harry can nail Narcissa Malfoy next, either before or after killing Draco? I'm grinning just thinking about that!
Love your work, and I'm still anxious to read your original novel...

Damn, but I really want Dumbledore to suffer. But if he wants Harry to kill him, then I don't want his plans to work.
GRRRRR! Your story really causes my emotions to flare!
Thanks for the story. Still excellent.

Still trying to get control of my anger!

As always, a great chapter.
Liked the reactions with Snape. Seems like Harry and him will have a confrontation sooner than later, over Malfoy.
The scene with Herm was good - thanks for not making it too explicit. Although it was interesting that the bath made it worse.
This feels like you're aiming for a wrap-up in about a few chapters. Hope they all come together well. Congrats on the short story publication. I'll check it out.
Good work.

Brilliant and my guess is that they did slip Hermione a fertility potion but can we say abortion?
I'm guessing Dumbledore isn't going to be the repetenant liar whose blood Harry uses
Don't make people try to make amends for their mistakes on their death beds not make more trouble?
Can't wait for Harry's payback cause there has to be payback

"*cries tears of joy* why must you be the only writer who updates here? excellent hob Jbern, though the lead up to the sex scene was a bit iffy. didn't Hermione look like a starved rat a few chapters back? even with the homonculos temporarily, her appearance should'nt have improved that much."
More like thank god he's the one that updates. I didn't come to this place for JBern's fics, but they're the only reason I'm still coming back. I don't think any of the other stories on here would have had that pull on me, but who knows?
Now hurry up with the next chapter of Lie! :p

Hmmm, from the way that chapter ended I'm suddenly thinking about the Elder Wand... Then again, there's been no mention of the other Hallows, so maybe I'm wrong.
What is it with your fics and dropping the pregnancy bombshell? Lauren here, Susan in TFtCD, now Hermione as well. I just hope it doesn't come up in The Lie I've Lived as well. I'm not going to pretend to that I like it, but different strokes for different folks and I still like the rest of the story. I am rooting for it to just be Harry's paranoia jumping to false conclusions, though.

Excellent read.
Loved the chat with Snape - I could literally see the gritted teeth and rictus-like smiles.
Wasn't surprised by the magically enforced sex with Herms. It was, pretty much, the only thing Dumbles could do. Mind you, if he thinks it'll soften Harry towards Hermione, or to the school, he's a complete idiot.
