First of all I love the troll familiar! Talk about something that has never been done before. This is just the first chapter and I can already tell I will love this story. Thank you!

Meet Harry Potter...life debt collector. He collects life debts like most people collect chocolate frog cards...
I just finished rereading Bungle (two reasons, the first was I saw the little 'warning' you stuck in the AN for Lie, and the second, was that I heard Bungle in the Jungle on the radio a couple days ago, and immediately thought of the story). This starts, what, a trans-Atlantic flight or so later?
Looking good. Now finish the other two so you can devote all your time to this, please?
JBern replied:
Glad you enjoyed it so much. Hope Bungle was a good reread. Next chapter coming in 2 weeks. I'm trying to finish my other stories. Believe me I'm trying.~Jim

Are you kidding. That was no clifhanger but I'm still complaining. I swear when he was taking the runes out my mind was yelling what I was reading. I-N-T-E-N-S-E !!!
Great chapter, can't wait to see what you write next!
JBern replied:
Thanks. Next chapter in 2 weeks. Glad I could provide such vivid imagery. I hope to continue impressing you.~Jim

Just as good as I remember. I am glad I took the time to go back and reread Bungle this week. You really have to love the humor of this series and point of view.
JBern replied:
Thanks. I'm glad you appreciate both this and Bungle so much.~Jim

Hooray! More "Bungle" action! Totally adequate chapter. Kidding, kidding! Very good, meaty. Hack is his familar eh? Coolness. Don't fight what works.
I love the "constant mayhem" groove you're riding, keep it up. So this is in the currently updating slot now? Is that every two weeks?
Again, hooray, and I'm looking forward to Miss Lovegood's appearance. I want to see emotions! You're good with the action, now we need some more WAFF or something. Emo anyway. :)

I'm guessing it was your blog site I wandered onto the other day. A true conversation with Luna might need to wait until chapter 3, but I think you'll be impressed with chapter 2. Next chapter in 2 weeks. I'm trying to finish off TFtCD this month. Three chapters and an epilogue.~Jim

Now that was an intense ending to this chapter. I didn't know you'd have him return to Hogwarts, I was thinking he'd be off for the next hou-something or other.

An excellent and exciting start, Jim. Glad to see Harry's life is as subtle back in Merry old England as it was out in the jungle all summer. I still see your stories could use one more beta though, as you all seem to miss a lot which could make the story a bit more readable and flow better. Still, a wonderful start, and I'm glad to see you extending this universe.
Vern
JBern replied:
I'm fairly comfortable with my beta crew. They do a good job and they work for free. At this stage, I am concentrating on telling a good story. Still thanks for the comment about the beta. It reminds me that I need to pay attention to the details.~Jim

Now that was a great start. Harry's been busy; taking out Dawlish, having Nott eliminated, Politicalspeak 101, confronting Dumbledore, Hack vs. Fawkes round 1 (yes, he's cooler), and finally Harry vs. Dark Amulet Of Doom. It's been a while since I read HBP, so I don't remember exactly what happened with that 'fun' little item in canon...but this rocked. Go Harry.
Would it be greedy of me to ask for this fic to the exclusion of the others? *grin*
JBern replied:
Yes it would be greedy. I really need to finish Darkness. Only 2 chapters left on that one. I plan to have it done by the end of this month! Next chapter in 2 weeks.~Jim

ah... its always good to start with a bang! Good chapter and a great start, and you're right, insane people can have moments of clarity, surprise and wowness... lol...
kinda interesting how the Phoenix doesn't like harry anymore....
but eh...
he's got a shapeshifting troll, thats cool... XD!
adios for now...
and see you when you update....
the sometimes insane, utterly strange and very much deranged....

Would you trade the respect of a phoenix for your very own size changing troll? Glad you liked the chapter.~Jim

An absolutely stunning start to this long awaited sequel. I love the political manuverings and am eagerly looking forward to reading how his so called former friends will be dealt with as well as how they react to this new and improved harry potter. hurry and post more soon.
JBern replied:
Thanks for the review. I tried to keep the poltical stuff short and interesting. There's a point that some fics cross where it starts to drag. Next chapter in 2 weeks.~Jim

You pour more action into every square inch that just about anyone.
The airport scene was nicely polished. The time with Scrimgeour makes good sense now. Saving Katie was gut-wrenching and heart pounding.
Excellent all around.
JBern replied:
Thank you for the compliment. I hope I can continue to impress you with this story. Next chapter in 2 weeks, though odds are that you'll see it long before then. (Yes everyone, I bounce ideas off of him, because he is a high caliber writer that writes very good fiction.)~Jim

Yo Jim: I'm so friggin glad that you are starting the sequel here. This is by far my favorite fan fiction story that I have read, and I've been doing fan fiction since 2001. I'm afraid that keep up the great work is all the praise I can give, but words just don't express how much I'm enjoying this story.
JBern replied:
Well I'm pleased to be sitting at the top of your list. Thanks so much. Next chapter coming in 2 weeks as I try to get my other story completed.~Jim

Woohoo! Just re-read Bungle last week. It's almost as if Trelawney told me the sequel was coming soon.
Guess he couldn't have got out of it but the only thing I don't really like about Harry's side of the oath is the requirement to live in Hogwarts for the next two years. Puts him to much under Dumble's thumb unless it's more of a "home base" instead of some place he's expected to be sleeping for the 300+ nights of the school term.
