You just keep building it up, don't you...

Would you want it any other way?   :-)

WHAT!!! YOU DID NOT JUST KILL BILL!!??!! Forget Harry - I want a piece of that BSTD Chilotha/Collins!

Seriously. Please - not Bill! How is it that everyone who likes Harry bites it? I suppose that this sets up the order of the <insert magical animal name here> - Kwan, Hack, Thundercloud & Hernando taking England by Storm! That might be cool - but KILLING BILL ISN"T COOL! This is definatly worse than the Hack/Sanchez imagery from a few chapters ago.

Good job also on hitting one of my main complaints with the books - why didn't DD teach Harry anything?

HOLY SHITE!!!! I don't know whether to curse you or congratulate you. Probably the latter as you obviously achieved the effect you were going for. That was incredible, and of course incredibly evil. How the heck will Harry keep the team together. Bill was the leader, will they now just call this a bad deal and flee? MAN! I can't wait to see the duel between wannabe Volde and Harry.

You certainly know how to play our emotions. Very exciting. Excellent feeling of danger and threat to the main characters. Great plot. I like that Harry figured out that Chilotha set the wards around the daemon.

Without Bill, I hope Harry can successfully stand up to Dumbledore.

Hate that you left it at a cliffhanger, but you post very regularly, so it's not so bad.

Thanks for a great story.

Patronus is fading. Not surprising, but it's a bad sign.

> "Harry, the nice ones call us ‘tomb raiders’. The not so nice ones call us ‘grave robbers’. There’s a reason for that."
*think* You're going a lot further into the world of the curse breakers than anyone else I've read. The fact that Bill says this and isn't embarassed by it speaks volumes. Fascinating stuff.

*frown* I still think the target could be further down in the goblin tunnels.

> I’ll show you ‘Fun with Severing Charms’. It slices, it dices, and it even makes julienne fries!
*chuckle* Is that what's called "bleak" or "gallows" humor? :)

> skip the part about you and the statue of Hernando de Soto, in a bathroom wrestling with a frail, but surprisingly strong dead thing that looked as much snake as it did man. It has all the makings of some outrageous joke.
*laugh*

One little thing is bugging me. The inferi numbers seem to be going down. But earlier you said they'd just keep getting back up. What changed?

Oh, shit. Bill . . .

*deep breath*

Okay, on the surface this looks very, very bad. However, it's possible that Bill isn't actually dead.

I'm not going to quote odds on that, though.

As a reader, I hate where you left it. As a fellow writer, I applaud the story.

Whoa, talk about intense. Going to be interesting to see how things go down from here, and Harry is building to a towering rage, with his opponent, the Order, and other things that he wants control of, but seems unable to do so, looks like it wouldn't take too much to push him over the edge into darkness itself.

Yes, Harry was blun t in his draft to Dumbles, but not nearly as blunt as he could have been, under the circumstances. We'll see if it was really Bill or not. A shame if it was.

I'm in shock, Bill is dead.

That was unexpected...

Well written, and I can't believe Bill is dead.

I refuse to believe Bill is dead and I'm currently coming up with a list of 'How Bill survived.'

1. We assume the dead dog was Bill, when Chilotha could have decided to fool Harry into thinking his best friend is dead, thus making Harry more reckless and easier to kill.

2. Zombie Bill. (Bad thought, very bad thought.)

I wonder if Dumbledore will find some way of blaming Bill's death on Harry. Molly probably will.

Looking forward to the next chapter, you're very good at balancing action, charater interaction and personal thoughts, and the plot is moving swiftly along.

Old Dudders often joked that you’d make someone a helluva wife someday
-Always saw Dudders playing that role in prison

and have ourselves a Curse Breaking bake off.
-Ewwww, a bit like one of those bug zappers

Thanks for all the fighting! Looking forward to more. Harry/Fluer?

Very interresting. I am very saddened at the thought of Bill being deceased, and I hope that it is a mistaken impression. Perhaps a ruse and the idiot dark lord had made something else into a dog and saved Bill in case he needed an alternative to Harry that could break wards. I guess that I'll just have to wait for the continuation.

Excellent story on every level. It would actually make a great video game.

Thank you for writing.

Very good Chapter. I never thought you would kill off Bill, if in fact you have. As always Hack is a fun character. I like DeSoto as well. Leaving Harry as the only cuse breaker will no doubt have some posibilities for painful educational experiences. Thanks. W.

Holy $h1t!!! You're really not holding back the punches, are you? Another death (Damn, man.), a Dark Lord (Nice foreshadowing with the nightmares.), and a Daemon (What the hell? Doesn't Harry ever get a break?). The last couple of chapters for this series are going to be action-packed and full of twists, aren't they?

I have this very small hope that things are not what it seems.

Wow. That's about all I can say about this chapter. Anyway a good chapter to show where you are going with this story, but did you have to kill off Bill? I like Bill and he's one of few allies Harry has. Well I can't wait for the next update be it this story or one of the other two.

You killed Bill? You can't kill Bill! It takes a trained assassin to do that... Anyway Bill is immortal! And he's got a horcrux of his own stashed with Fleur for safekeeping. Oh, boy. Harry/Weasley just went strait to hell. Not only is Harry pissed and has lost his stabilizer but there is no way Mrs. Weasley is going to take Bill's death well. And given the already strained relations this could lead to a rather nasty break.
...
Well the party has reached a new low. It's now down to four with a possibility of a pile of masonry joining the team. Well at least the transportation issue has been solved so as long as Harry can outlive another Dark Lord they shouldn't have any problems continuing the mission. Even if he is forced to scrap the mission now, Harry shouldn't have any problems assembling a new team and starting from scratch. Especially since he has got a pretty much unlimited bankroll, a friend in the local head family, access to a completely sealed off area full of potential treasures (even if they can't get to the gold, there is still the necrodragon. Only problem would be dealing with the goblins and that's only a problem because the goblins will want to try to turn it into a problem. After all they are looking for profit here.
Hmmm...now that they can leave the city with impunity the loss of secrecy on the homefront could very well become a problem. Even if the bounty hunters/Voldemort/Death Eaters don't hear about it, Dumbledore is certainly going to send a retrival expedition. The only good thing is that he will have to keep it small and quiet since it will have to be a waiting missions since only Voldemort's forces could possibly access the cursed city. Damn. If secrecy really is compromised than Phoenix Expeditions will have a lot worse things to worry about than zombies, wannabe Dark Lords and rogue demons. If Dumbledore isn't really careful he could very well bring the whole war back to where Voldemort started.
Still it will be a lot of fun to see Harry deal with an unprepared and underinformed Order Member who is planning to boss him around. (Rubbs hand together in sadistic anticipation - will we finally get to see what Kwan did to that poor girl who propositioned him back on the reservation?)

i vote for bill not being dead, please?

i also think the letter to dumbledore was more teen-girl than teen-boy ranting. I think a boy would have said 'fuck you and the broom you rode in on' and left it at that. I was hoping Harry had learned enough not to show his cards (that he knows about the memory charms/love potions etc...) - well, you know this Harry better I suppose.

help from an all-knowing statue... :-( so far that is my least favorite plot device you have used - bleh

oh, last thing - little typo
"we wouldn’t be having this conversation would be"
