In the American edition of Prisoner of Azkaban Binns shuffles papers on his own.

Hearing the interview made me realize the only defense professor Harry had that didn't try to kill him was Snape; at least Lupin had an excuse. Nice story by the way, very entertaining.

Thanks for the compliments.~Jim

This: "Perseverance, you like that in your zombie hordes. Any zombie horde you get from here on out will be held to this standard!" Was arguably the best line in the whole story (to me at least).
It reminded me of last 4th of July when a friend of mine and I set about to the task of decimating his considerable legion of green army men with leftover fireworks...
After the carnage (the only appropriate word) was finished we'd sort out the survivors and any we found nearly intact (none were left whole after the unspeakable things we did to them) we declared a hero of the war and slated to recieve a medal... The rest we told to strive for that standard next year!
JBern replied:
Those poor green army guys! Have you no shame!

Oh... dear lord.... I think that so far Kwan is probably my favorite original character. I do enjoy his teaching methods...

Thanks. Glad you liked it.~Jim

I was a little iffy on the whole second person pov, the only experiance with it I have is some of the old goosebump books. But I think it's growing on me... It certainly is a unique read.
JBern replied:
I think 2nd person added something that just wouldn't have been there in the first person pov.~Jim

Ended up really good. At first it was a little slow, but it really picked up. I'm just glad there's still more to the story.

Bloody hell! what a crappy place to put a cliff hanger!
What ever happened everyone lived happily ever after?
Good job so far, I can't wait for the rest.
JBern replied:
Happily ever after is overrated. Glad you enjoyed the story.~Jim

Awesome!
I loved your creativity, espcially around the different kinds or wards. I would suggest that all *real* warders read your story as part of their *real* warding eduction.

Glad you enjoyed it. Sorry for the long delayed reply. I hope you continue to enjoy my works.~Jim

JBern replied:
Well, it's not for everyone. Maybe somewhere down the line you'll give it a try again.`Jim

I have to admit I loved the story. I especially loved the scarcastic comments flowing through Harry's head.
I thought you did a good job of showing Harry progress in terms of learning things.
Having had a Korean 9th degree teaching me Tae Kwon Do made me really appreciate Kwan. "don't think, do"
And you just got to love a troll sidekick.
Watching Harry's confidence grow as he achieves things was also more believable than a sudden power surge and he can do everything.
Thanks for actually thinking about the changes needed to get Harry from point A to point B.
JBern replied:
Glad you enjoyed the story. I try to swing by my completed stories every now and then to catch up on reviews. Thanks for yours. Hope you are enjoying the sequel and my other works.~Jim

Is it just me or did anyone else have Johnny Cash's 25 Minutes To Go going through their head during this chapter....
"Well they're building a gallows outside my cell
I've got 25 minutes to go And the whole town's
waitin' just to hear me yell I've got 24 minutes
to go Well they gave me some beans for my last
meal I've got 23 minutes to go But nobody asked me
how I feel I've got 22 minutes to go Well I sent
for the governor and the whole dern bunch with 21
minutes to go And I sent for the mayor but he's
out to lunch I've got 20 more minutes to go Then
the sheriff said boy I gonna watch you die got 19
minutes to go So I laughed in his face and I spit
in his eye got 18 minutes to go Now hear comes the
preacher for to save my soul with 13 minutes to go......"

Ah, the man in black. He wasn't my inspiration for this story, but it's an interesting song.~Jim

This is one of the better and more believable ways of seeing Harry grow up. I loved Kwan, but then again I had a Korean instructor for Tae Kwon Do.
Love to see that Harry is actually a hormonal teenage boy and not the chaste dedicated sweet boy he is most fics. Hmm, hot chick wants to jump my bones....not much to think about if your 16.
Luna's outbursts made Harry's one's from 5th year pale in comparison. Hope Fleur knocked some sense into her.
Some seriously great sarcasm in the story. I suppose the style helps allow it to come out since Harry can think it and we will know it.
Best of luck on all your writings!
JBern replied:
Glad you enjoyed it. Look forward to more of your reviews.~Jim

At the risk of sounding like a jerk wouldn't a course like ancient runes have started in third year? I think i remember a scene in COS when Harry and Ron pick classes.
Much of it so far is memorization and translation through third year.
JBern replied:
You are correct. I meant to say that third year is all memorization.
Hope you enjoyed the rest of the story.~Jim
